Bye Vegas

So on wednesday I didn't do all that much during the day. I wanted to go back to the Bellagio to record the fountain show again, cause the first time I did it I had my finger in the video. It came out great as you can see in the blogpost below. So I did that and after I went to the Mirage to check out the Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Check it out but be warned: It's extremely cute.

When the sun started to set things got a bit more interesting. It was the only night Nicole didn't have to go out with clients and had time to do stuff with me. We wanted to spend our last night with a fancy dinner and downtown Vegas. We took a cab to the Bellagio and went to the award winning Michael Mina. It was a super fancy place and I felt totally underdressed. We got an entrè salad which was to die for. It had mixed greens, grilled goat cheese and expensive nuts which name I can't remember.

For the main course I ordered the duck. I was in shock when the waiter came back with my plate. I didn't know you could eat almost raw duck. I was convinced it counts as poultry but their meat actually is dark or red meat, so you don't HAVE to cook it all the way through. I gotta say I'm not big fan of pink meat. I like everything well done, so when I cut the meat and saw the blood coming out of it, I was not amused. I ate one of the two pieces and the crust of the second one. Really wasn't all that happy with it. But then came dessert. OH MY GOD. It's called the chocolate whiskey cake. It had chocolate, cream, caramel and icecream. So basically everything a sweettooth needs. It was absolutely delicious.
It really made up for the duck. Also grandpa #1 was amazing. He was a waiter at that restaurante and he was the cutest man. I wanted to have him as my grandpa. He was this short chubby italian guy who got really excited talking about food and the restaurant. I miss him. He was just so adorable.

After dinner we wanted to check out the fountain show at night. It looked beautiful but the song wasnt as great as the one from my video. I definitely got the perfect song for it. We were looking for a cab to take us downtown where the cheaper casinos are. The cab line was humongous. We wanted to go to another casino to see if the cab line would be shorter. On our way there we ran into Walter White and at first I was like "oh yeah that guy just wants to get money for putting on a costume" but then I looked at his face and he looked exactly like Bryan Cranston. I kept walking but then i turned around cause I just had to see this guy from up close. I decided to tip him and take a picture. I'm still not sure what this guys deal was, I think he was wearing a mask..

I also figured out that this isn't a great angle for me xD I might have gained two pounds but don't worry I'm not as a fat as I look in that picture. Just wanna make that clear. :)
There was this guy who gave us wristbands for a club for free drinks. We went to find the place but they weren't open yet. So we decided to just get the cab and drive downtown.
So downtown is way different from the strip. It is not as classy and a lot cheaper but still fun. We saw this place called Heartattack Grill which had a scale outside where you can see your weight. People over 350 pounds eat for free. You get a hospital gown and drinks are served in a IV bag with a straw. They're famous for their giant burger which is basically impossible to finish. We didn't go inside but Nicole knew about it. Now to the really cool fun part.

So two of my german friends gave me instructions on what to bet on for them at roullette. Sandra wanted number 25 and my friend Mot wanted an odd number/red. So we got to the Golden Nugget Casino. We immediately sat down at the roullette table. My limit for the night was $20 cause I couldn't really spend all that much. All week I was like "Sh*t I really wanna buy that but I can't afford it, I want a bottle of water but I can't afford it so I drink tap water etc." So i put $10 down on the 25 for Sandra. Didn't work out. I took the other 10 and wanted to put it on 23 but Nicole already used it so I wanted to use a different number. I thought, well 32 is almost like 23. So I put my 10 bucks on 32. It hit 32. I didn't know what the fuck was happening cause I never gambled before and I didn't even really know how the game works. So I was waiting to get my winnings while talking to the guys at the table. So I didn't know I was supposed to take my chips back from the 32 so I left them there. Guess what, it hit 32 AGAIN. That NEVER happens. I was having a little panic attack right at the table. The guys around us couldn't believe it. I just yelled that I'm done playing and received my chips. I didn't even really look at them cause my brain was still fried. I was literally in shock. We stepped away from the table and I checked my hands. Fucking $700, I won $700. So amazing. I was done gambling cause I really didn't feel like losing any of it. We went to a bar inside the casino that had a cover band which was AMAZING. These guys were so good and Nicole and me became the centre of the party. We were just having a couple drinks rocking out to the music and talking to some dudes who tried to get a piece. Grandpa #2 send us drinks. Turned out he was there with his son and his grandson. Three generations. I thought that was pretty cute. Also grandpa#2 was a real gentleman. They don't make em like this anymore. We had a lot of fun that night and went back to the hotel around 1 am. I was still in shock cause I'm usually none of the lucky ones.

Back at the room we we're disussing the chances of that happening and just kept repeating how crazy this night was. We went to bed shortly after that cause we had to get up early for our flight.
Friday wasn't really all that exciting. We spend most of the day on planes to get back home to Jersey. This time we had our stop at Denver where I picked up some souvenirs. I usually don't buy all that stuff but I felt like I owe it to Vegas and I definitely want something to remember this trip.

When we landed in Jersey it was raining and warm. I really wasn't a fan of the humidity. We got a cab back to Edison where a party was going on at our house. I didn't really feel like socializing, I just wanted to go to sleep. But it wasn't as bad as I expected. The food was good and I got to meet some new people which is always fun. I unpacked and went to bed. It was an amzing week. I fell asleep feeling so blessed and happy.

I'm gonna tell you guys more about the weekend tomorrow. I had a really long day and I need to go to bed. Talk to you soon.
