VEGAS BABY!!!!

Hello everyone. I'm pretty sure most of you have figured out what the big surprise was. If not: It's that I went to Las Vegas. So let me tell you a bit about our trip.

Tuesday: We got up at 3am. Yup that's 3am and left the house at 4 to get to the train. Now I gotta be a little mean to you New Jersey: Your trains SUCK BALLS. That thing scared the shit out of me. It was so shaky and loud. My phobia was going strong. But we eventually made it Newark airport without any major freakouts.

After getting coffee and food it was just waiting around til we could board. I was pretty nervous at first but once I sat down I calmed down a little. I got an aisle seat with Nicole next to me. We had to stop at St. Louis Missouri. We got Starbucks and waited for our next flight. Nothing really exciting.

The second flight was super amazing. I chose a seat by the window cause I was hoping we would fly over the Grand Canyon, which is exactly what we did. Let me show you a couple pictures from the plane.

We landed in Vegas around 12 at noon, which was 3pm in Jersey and 9pm in Germany.
All the timedifferences are gonna drive my body insane.
Whatever - It's totally worth it.
After landing it didn't take long to see the first slot machines.
They actually have them at the airport with club music playing.
It's a total different world out here.
I was smoking my very deserved cigarette after that 7 hour trip and we got a cab.
It was a lady driver, which we both liked.
I couldn't believe this place. It's just so freaking beautiful.
This green oasis in the middle of the desert.
Even though it's fake I enjoy looking at it.
The drive was a lot of fun, especially when we got to the strip. But then my mind was definitely blown when we checked into our hotel. We're staying at the Venetian and it's appearence is based on roman style. Perfect for someone who studies art history.
I gotta take more pictures of the hotel so you can see what I'm talking about. But let me show you the ones I have for now.

So the first picture was taken from the lobby, the second and third were taken from our room. That is ACTUALLY our view. Can you believe that shit. It was a little too much for me to handle. How freaking lucky am I to get a chance to stay here.
This weather is exactly what I wanted. After resting for a bit we decided to go chill by the pool. It was pretty windy that day which made the 91°F feel amazing. We chilled on one of those beach chairs and just enjoyed life while drinking a cocktail. After heating up we jumped aka slowly stepped into the pool which was actually quite cold. We couldn't get out cause the wind was so strong that it felt like a snow storm on your wet body. We waited for a quick wind break and ran to our towels and wrapped them around us. 2 minutes on the chairs and the cold was completely gone. Another cigarette by the pool and then we went up to our room (which is on the 18th floor btw) and changed into street clothes cause we wanted to walk around a little before Nicole had to go to a work related dinner. So let me tell you one specific thing about Vegas. On the strip you can't really cross the street like usual. They have bridges with escalators from hotel/casino to hotel/casino. It's good marketing cause they want you to go gamble and lose money. Even the airport was constructed in a way that you get lost so you might gamble more. Same goes for hotels. I don't mind cause I don't have a gambling problem, also I don't mind walking a little extra to burn the calories of the deliciousness that is american food. We only had an hour yesterday, but let me show you some pictures I took.

After our little walk we went back to our room and Nicole went to her dinner thing. I wanted to get the photos ready to upload and totally fell asleep with the phone in my hand. It was after 10pm Vegas time. I slept til 7am. We got coffee and breakfast and after finishing this blog post I'm gonna get ready for the day. Not entirely sure what I'm gonna do today. We'll see, Vegas is full of surprises ;)
Talk to you then.
